Symphony Of Now is the soundtrack for the original film from 1927. Composed by Frank Wiedemann it´s a mix of elements from Techno, House, Hip Hop, Wave and Krautrock. Director Johannes Schaff invented the images for the already fully composed piece. The newly shot footage was then edited to this music. Thus, in a way, the spirit and echo of the legendary classic remain noticeable, as well as its 5-act structure and the playing time of 65 minutes. Apart from that, it’s a completely different approach. Director Johannes Schaff and his team had the freedom to make the images and editing completely their own in a modern way. The classic film served exclusively as a conceptual model for the unusual composition.
